These chocolate peanut butter overnight oats taste like a dessert while offering a convenient breakfast option. Rolled oats absorb the milk overnight and develop a thick, creamy texture, while cocoa powder adds rich chocolate flavor and peanut butter provides a nutty finish. Because the recipe requires no cooking, it is ideal for busy mornings and weekly meal preparation.
Ingredients
- 100 g rolled oats
- 250 ml milk or unsweetened plant-based milk
- 100 g plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Banana slices and chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- Add the oats, cocoa powder, and chia seeds to a mixing bowl.
- Pour in the milk, then add the yogurt, peanut butter, sweetener, and vanilla.
- Stir thoroughly until the cocoa is evenly distributed and the mixture is creamy.
- Divide between two jars or airtight containers and cover.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, allowing the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid.
- In the morning, stir the mixture and add a splash of milk if it is too thick.
- Top with sliced banana, a small spoonful of peanut butter, and chocolate chips before serving.
Serving tip: Add strawberries, chopped walnuts, or shredded coconut for different flavor combinations. Store refrigerated and enjoy within approximately 3 days for the best texture.
