Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) pasta of your choice
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Shrimp:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until shrimp turns pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes until garlic is fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Combine Pasta and Shrimp:
    • Add the cooked pasta and cooked shrimp back to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce. Toss everything together until well coated.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve hot.
