Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 6 cups of peeled, cored, and sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the topping:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Make sure the apples are well-coated with the mixture. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the topping. Add the cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
