Ingredients:
- 2 (8 oz) beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Steps:
- Prepare the Steaks:
- Take the steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Make the Garlic Herb Butter:
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, softened butter, chopped thyme, and chopped rosemary. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Preheat the Pan:
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and let it heat up.
- Cook the Steaks:
- Once the pan is hot, carefully place the steaks in the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred level of doneness.
- Add the Garlic Herb Butter:
- In the last minute of cooking, add a tablespoon of the garlic herb butter on top of each steak. Let it melt and baste the steaks with the butter using a spoon.
- Rest and Serve:
- Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes on a cutting board. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- Slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
