Garlic Herb Butter Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 (8 oz) beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Steaks:
    • Take the steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
    • Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Make the Garlic Herb Butter:
    • In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, softened butter, chopped thyme, and chopped rosemary. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Preheat the Pan:
    • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and let it heat up.
  4. Cook the Steaks:
    • Once the pan is hot, carefully place the steaks in the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred level of doneness.
  5. Add the Garlic Herb Butter:
    • In the last minute of cooking, add a tablespoon of the garlic herb butter on top of each steak. Let it melt and baste the steaks with the butter using a spoon.
  6. Rest and Serve:
    • Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes on a cutting board. This allows the juices to redistribute.
    • Slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
